UPDATE FROM THE MAYOR
July 24th, 2026
Branch Line Solar Project
A couple of weeks ago the Branch Line Solar Representatives were to attend the city council meeting and were unable to make it. They are now scheduled to attend the upcoming meeting, Tuesday, July 28th at 6 p.m., at City Hall.
As a reminder, the Clearwater City Council passed a resolution opposing the Branch Line Solar (TED) Project and forwarded a letter to the Sedgwick County Board of Commissioners asking for careful consideration of the project’s approval. The Branch Line Solar organization is offering a payment for that decision to be reversed.
This will be an opportunity for Branch Line Solar Representatives to present to the governing body and for the governing body to ask questions.
While City council meetings are open, and the public is welcome to attend, this will not be a meeting open to the public to speak during this session. That opportunity will be available during the Sedgwick County Board of Commissioners meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 5th at 9 a.m. Their meeting will be held at the lower-level auditorium at the Ruffin Bldg, 100 N. Broadway, when they are scheduled to consider the applications for both the Galena and Branch Line Solar Projects.
City hall has limited seating and will restrict the number inside to those seats. You can also listen live to this meeting by clicking the link for the City Council Livestream at https://meet.goto.com/ClearwaterCouncilMeeting on Tuesday, July 28th at 6 p.m.
