Wes Tackkett Tornado Shelter

The Wes Tackkett Tornado Shelter is located at 319 W. Ross on the east side of the Wes Tackkett Emergency services Building. It has 2 handicap parking spaces and can hold 50 people comfortably but up to 70 (based on square footage and fire code recommendations). The square footage of the shelter is approximately 576. The design windspeed is 250 mph. The shelter will be unlocked if a tornado watch is issued. Pets are not allowed in the Tornado shelter.
