Update from the Mayor 04 29 21

ANNOUNCEMENT – City Administration accepts the position as City Manager, Abilene, KS.

At the April 27, 2021 council meeting Ron Marsh, City Administrator, submitted his resignation to council with and effective date of May 31, 2021. Ron has accepted the position of City Manager for City of Abilene, KS.

Ron has served the community in many capacities. He served two terms on the USD 264 school board from 2003 – 2006 and 2010 – 2013, and served on City Council from 2015 – 2017, and as the City Administrator since 2017.

We offer our thanks and appreciation for his service to the City and wish all the best to Ron and Amy as they start their new journey.

After a period of decline, Sedgwick County has been identified as a “rapid riser” in COVID-19 cases. I realize it remains a personal decision, but do encourage those that have not received a COVID-19 vaccine, to consider the options. The Clearwater Senior Center, 921 E Janet, is a Local Vaccination Location. Sedgwick County Health Department will be on site for first injections on May 19th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. No appointment is necessary.  Here is a link to other vaccine locations in Sedgwick County.

Thank You,

Burt Ussery, Mayor
