Update from the Mayor December 21, 2021

With Christmas only days away and a New Year just around the corner, I wanted to wish everyone the very best over the holidays as you gather family and friends together to celebrate this joyous season of giving thanks. On behalf of the City of Clearwater’s Governing Body and Staff we offer our sincere thanks and appreciation for a wonderful community that we are honored to serve.

With this being an election year, I’d like to offer my thanks for the outstanding service to our community of two city councilmembers who have finished their elected terms and welcome two new members to city council! We will be doing a formal recognition at our January 11th meeting for both and I invite you to attend to offer your “thank you” as well.

Finishing their service is, Chris Griffin who has served the city for nearly nine year and Shirley Palmer-Witt has served four years! I hope if you see them around town you join me in thanking them for their commitment, dedicated leadership, and loyal service to the City of Clearwater.

We welcome first time councilmember Tim Robbins and a previous councilmember, William “Tex” Titterington, as our two new members of the governing body. They will assume their duties at the January 11th meeting.

There will be no meeting on the 4th Tuesday (December 28th) as normally scheduled.

Construction on the new park shelters began on December 6th. Final completion for the project will be early spring.

Please enjoy a very safe and Happy Holidays!
