The City of Clearwater is extremely proud to announce the appointment of Kirk Ives to the position of Chief of Police. The Mayor recommended and the Governing Body unanimously approved the appointment of Chief Ives at the February 11th City Council meeting. He will assume the position effective March 1, 2020.
Chief Ives grew up in St. John, Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University. In 2008 he took advantage of an opportunity to become the Chief of Police of Oxford, Kansas, where he has been for the past 11 years, becoming the longest serving Chief of Oxford. Chief Ives takes pride knowing he helped grow community support towards the department during his tenure and has actively participated in school and civic activities while keeping the safety of the citizens as his top priority.
