City wide cleanup will be held on Friday October 20th & Saturday October 21st for residential customers only. The collection area will open up at 8:00 am on Friday and close at 4:00 pm. It will then be open Saturday from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm (or until bins are full.)
We also ask that all items being collected need to be able to be handled by one person safely. That means if you cannot pick it up, we will not be able to either. We do ask that brush or yard waste be taken to the brush dump and not brought down to this event.
If you have items left from a remodeling or construction job debris, (such as lumber, plaster, drywall, floor covering and roofing material, etc.) it must be in small manageable bundles so one person can lift safely. Keep in mind if you can not lift it, neither can we. No box or bag may exceed 40 pounds in weight.
The list below are items that NO LANDFILL or TRANSFER STATION will accept
- Car batteries
- oil filters
- fluorescent light bulbs
- propane tanks
- any asbestos materials
- paint (we will take empty & dried up paint cans with the lid off so it’s visible)
- no hazardous liquids (such as fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, solvents, diesel fuel, gas, oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze, etc…)
- no tires.
Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners must be tagged that it is free of CFCs (refrigerant) by a licensed technician, and must have the appropriate paper work with it to be disposed of.
Please remember that the clean up is to help keep our community clean. It is not a way to circumvent the resident from getting an open top for his/her home remodel or construction job. If you need an open top for your project, please call 316-838-4920 to get one from Waste Connections.
